Heres a tipple enjoy.

 Master Yack

The Summit
  • 4 slices of ginger
  • 1 lime slice
  • 40ml(2 tots) VSOP cognac
  •  lemonade
  • a fine peel of cucumber
  • tumbler glass

But knowing the ingredients is only half the story.  How you mix them together is key to creating the perfect cocktail.  So here’s how you do it:

Place the lime and ginger into a glass, and add 20ml of Cognac.  Then add ice and stir.  Add the rest of the Cognac the lemonade – then, finally add the cucumber peel.

Bora Bora
  • 20 ml Cognac
  • 20 ml Vodka
  • 20 ml Cherry brandy
  • 20 ml Picon (French aperitif)
  • four ice cubes

Mix all ingredients and serve in cocktail glass.

Corpse Reviver

I have a hangover what can I do about it? If you have a hangover, have this drink and you’ll be better. At least it’s what they say.

  • 30 ml Brandy
  • 30 ml Calvados
  • 20 ml sweet vermouth
  • four ice cubes

Mix all ingredients – serve in cocktail glass

Mint-Julep Au Cognac

Coming from the South of the United States of America, this cocktail normally gets served with Bourbon. But of course you can also do it with Cognac.

  • 4 fresh mint branches
  • 60 ml Cognac
  • Soda
  • sugar
  • crunched ice
  • Powder sugar


Take off the lint leaves from the branches, mix those with sugar, cognac and water in a bar glass. Stir until the sugar melts. Now add crushed ice and stir. Clean the branches, put it into the powder sugar and use it as decoration for the drink.

You may want to add a sense of Angostura or Rum.

Café Brûlot for 8 persons
  • 250 ml of Cognac
  • the peel  of one orange
  • the peel of one lemon
  • 8 cloves
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • 2 cinnamon stick
  • 2 table spoons sugar
  • 500ml hot coffee

Mix all ingredients but sugar and coffee in a fireproof bowl and start to heat it. Add a tbsp of sugar, let it melt and stir well. Add coffee.

You take the second tbsp sugar and drown it in Cognac, put it on a spoon and burn it. The burning piece of sugar gets dipped in the bowl. The surface starts to burn, serve it in mocha cups.

FYNBOS SHAKE & STRAIN

GLASS: Chilled martini

METHOD: Shake and strain

INGREDIENTS: 50ml KWV 10 Year Old
50 ml rooibos tea
12.5 ml ginger syrup
12,5 ml honey syrup
A dash of bitters

GARNISH: Twist of lemon peel

COLLISON’S COSMO SHAKE & STRAIN

GLASS: Chilled martini

METHOD: Shake and strain

INGREDIENTS: 37.5 ml Collison’s White Gold
12.5 ml Trip Sec
75 ml cranberry juice
12.5 ml fresh lime juice

GARNISH: Flaming orange twist

OUDE MEESTER FRANKLIN BUILD IT

GLASS: Collins

METHOD: Build over ice

INGREDIENTS: 35 ml Oude Meester Demant
2 to 3 dashes of bitters
Top up with ginger ale

GARNISH: Twist of lemon peel

 
AMA-LEKKER LICIOUS SHAKE IT

GLASS: Tumbler

METHOD: Wet rim of glass on one side and dip into sherbet to make a sherbet lip. Shake ingredients with ice. Strain into glass.

INGREDIENTS: 25 ml KWV 3 Year Old
12.5 ml Trip Sec
15 ml fresh lemon juice
12.5ml peach syrup
50 ml cranberry juice
A dash of bitters

GARNISH: Flaming orange twist
