The 19th September 2013 sees the 8th ever Part des Anges Cognac auction taking place in Chateau Brillac, Foussignac, with this year expected to break all records from previous years. The auction, run by the BNIC and featuring cognacs donated by various cognac houses, features some outstanding and unique cognac.  We’re delighted to say that some tantalizing glimpses have been revealed for the gems that are to be offered this year.

Part des Anges 2013

There are a total of 27 lots, the same amount as last year but with an estimated value that is very much higher.  Last year’s pre-sale estimate totaled 78,680 euros, (with a post-sale value of 138,600 euros).  However, this years estimated value is 125,900 euros – a big difference to start with, so it’ll be interesting to see what level the actual sales value achieves..  One of the lots is a unique bottle from Tessendier Cognac, signed and with an estimated value of 2,500 euros.

Others on offer include a Tres Vieux Fins Bois de Vallein Tercinier, with an estimate of 500 euros, a Jeroboam of Remy Martin Louis XIII at 20,000 euros, and a 1900 Hennessy Carafe estimated at the same.

630 guests will be invited to Chateau Brillac, where well known auctioneer Vincent Gerard-Tasset, will take to the stand to host the sale.  All the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Red Cross and the local association, L’Arche.

All the guests will be treated to a wonderful meal that’s designed by the head of 10 of the cognac houses.  Mixologists will also be present to create their cognac cocktail masterpieces.  And interestingly, all the courses will be accompanied not by wine, but by cognac.

The Part des Anges event has now grown to a significant size.  The plan is to develop it further without losing its local roots and the spirit of the first Part des Anges.
